Good questions, straight answers

The questions we hear most

How quickly can a plumber reach an emergency?

Real people answer the phone around the clock, and we give an honest arrival window when you call rather than a promise nobody can keep. The van sent to you arrives stocked for the faults local homes most often develop.

Do you charge a call out fee?

No. Having a licensed plumber assess your job and quote it costs nothing, so the only money you ever part with is for work you have approved in writing.

Is the work quoted by the hour or at a fixed price?

Fixed, always. Your plumber inspects the job, then hands you a single written price before any work begins, and the invoice matches that number no matter how long the job runs.

Do the plumbers carry a licence and insurance?

Every plumber on the team works under licence #275278C with full insurance behind each job, and any compliance certificates your paperwork needs arrive with the invoice.

What does the lifetime labour warranty actually cover?

Workmanship. If something we have installed or repaired is not right, we come back and fix it, with no questions and no cost, for the life of the work.

Questions about local homes and buildings

Can you handle plumbing on common property in a strata block?

Yes. Much of our work happens inside older apartment buildings, where we coordinate access with building managers, isolate the correct riser and keep work quiet and tidy for other residents.

Why do so many local apartment blocks struggle with hot water?

At the last census roughly seven in ten dwellings here were apartments, many in mid-century blocks, so clustered storage systems and shared risers age together and need coordinated replacement rather than one-off fixes. Our hot water team handles both single-unit repairs and whole-of-block replacements.

Do tree roots really cause drain blockages on leafy streets?

Genuinely, yes. Mature trees along the established streets and around the foreshore reserves push fine roots into older clay joints seeking moisture, and a root mat left alone becomes a recurring blockage. See our blocked drains page for how we clear and then keep lines clear.

Does the harbour air affect outdoor plumbing?

It does. Properties toward Willoughby Bay sit in salt-laden air that corrodes external taps, hose fittings and exposed pipework visibly faster than equivalent fittings further up the ridge.

Is excavation harder because of the ground conditions here?

The suburb sits over rock and shale, so digging is slower and messier than in sandy soil. That is one reason we favour camera diagnosis first and relining where the pipe structure allows it.

Approvals and urgent situations

Do some jobs need Sydney Water involvement?

Certain work, such as backflow prevention on commercial or renovated premises, must be installed by an approved plumber and registered with Sydney Water. We handle the device, the test and the paperwork.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Treat it as urgent. Avoid switches or flames, ventilate if safe, and call us immediately. We carry gas detection gear and can isolate, test and repair the line properly.

Which nearby suburbs do you also cover?

Our crews regularly work in Neutral Bay, Cammeray, Mosman, Cremorne Point and Kurraba Point, and every one of those areas has its own page describing the plumbing quirks we see there.
